We had a visitor on Saturday - and she stayed until Sunday, but she might have been there before.
It was a Hedgehog. SHe was staying next to the washing machine, and was making things smell quite bad.
I got her in a box and made sure she was ok on the other side of the fence.
Nice
I think I should have the news prize this month for being brave.

British Government UFO Coverup?

Well no, so much for all the UFO media hype over the years. Instead it seems the MOD were not, to coin a phase "bothered".

Extracts taken from recently released files from the National Archives.

The sole interest of the Ministry of Defence in UFO reports is to establish whether they reveal anything of Defence interest (eg. Intruding aircraft). Reports are sent to operations staff who examine them as part of their normal duties. There is no unit within the Ministry upon the subject on a full-time basis.

The Ministry of Defence does not deny that there are strange things to see in the sky. It believes, however, that there are adequate material explanations for these. Satellite debris re-entering the earth's atmosphere, ball lightning, unusual cloud formations; meteorological balloons, aircraft lights, aircraft at unusual angles etc. We are aware of independent scientific studies into UFOs, notably the report produced by the University of Colorado in 1969. This concluded that 90% of all UFO reports proved to be plausibly related to ordinary phenomena.

Still it's good to know at least UFOs were being taken seriously in the House of Lords.

House of Lords Wednesday 7th April 1982
Extract from the UFO Sighting Reports: Security

Lord Wade: My Lords, may I ask which Ministry is responsible for UFOs?

Viscount Long: None, my Lords. Reports come into
the Ministry of Defence, and anyone can take them
from there.

Viscount St. Davids: My Lords, has anybody yet
found an empty beer can marked, "Made in
Centaurus ", or any similar object? Until they have, will the ministry deal with these matters with very considerable scepticism, please!

Viscount Long: My Lords, I am not the Minister for conservation, if it is a question of beer cans.

Lord Morris: My Lords, if something is said to be
unidentified, how can it possibly be said to exist?

Viscount Long: A very good question, my Lords.

Lord Leatherhead: My Lords. can the Minister tell us whether any of the unidentified flying objects are Ministers who are fleeing from the Cabinet just now?

Viscount Long: No, my Lords.

Chloe

At 7.23am on the 16th of May 2008, my daughter was born. I had been awake since about 2am with Kate - the beautiful mother of Chloe, and since that moment I have been thinking of the future. No longer fearful of mistakes made and people hurt, Chloe is redemption in my life. The small figure laying in a cot in the hospital is our hope and my future.
For all the hard work Kate did to convince me that this was the right way forward for us - I thank her. If only I had understood what everyone was trying to tell me. I refused to think about anything other than the change to my life and how I was being stopped from living it my way, and now I do the same thing but with the knowledge I am living it my way.

Village primary's witch logo scares students

Warboys Community Primary School is to scrap its historic witch logo because of fears that it drives away pupils and teachers.

article here
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2008/04/17/nschool117.xml

The real reason why teachers and pupils don't want to go to Warboys, is that it is in the middle of the bloody fen miles from anywhere.
